The LGBT Bar Association and Foundation of Greater New York Announces New Board Members and Student Liaison in 2026

NEW YORK, NY — July 24, 2026 — The LGBT Bar Association and Foundation of Greater New York (LeGaL) is proud to announce the new members joining its Association and Foundation Boards of Directors this year. These distinguished leaders join the leadership teams as the organization continues its decades-long mission of advocating for LGBTQ+ legal professionals, advancing equality under the law, and providing crucial legal services to the community.

Wursthorn, President of LGBT Bar NY. "Each of these individuals brings an exceptional track record of professional excellence, tireless advocacy, and deep commitment to equity and justice. Their diverse expertise across government service, big law, solo practice, non-profit advocacy, academia, and emerging legal leadership will be invaluable as we continue to expand our reach and impact throughout Greater New York."

New Members of the LGBT Bar NY Association Board of Directors

George D. Adames, Esq. (he/him): Deputy General Counsel at New York City’s Commission on Human Rights. Adames previously served as one of Staten Island’s first openly gay prosecutors and as the Richmond County District Attorney’s Office’s inaugural LGBT Community Liaison. He sits on the Executive Team of LeGaL’s Judiciary Committee, serves on the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rican Bar Association (where he is the inaugural Chair of its LGBT Committee), and serves as Counsel to Staten Island’s Alice Austen House. He earned his B.A. from CUNY’s College of Staten Island and his J.D. from CUNY School of Law.
Corey Briskin, Esq. (he/him): A New York City-based criminal defense attorney, former prosecutor, and former federal law clerk with over a decade of courtroom experience in state and federal courts. As founder of his own practice, Briskin defends clients against allegations of violent felonies, sex crimes, and white-collar offenses. He is an active law student mentor at LeGaL and the NYC Bar and coaches mock trial and appellate moot court competitions at New York Law School. He holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
Katlyn Hallock-Palmatier, Esq. (she/they): An employment attorney representing workers in federal and state discrimination and retaliation matters across all industries. Hallock-Palmatier has dedicated her career to advocating for LGBTQ+ rights both professionally and academically. A member of the LGBT Bar Association since 2021, she steps into her new role on the Board of Directors to further advance worker protections and LGBTQ+ civil rights.
Aaron M. Horth, Esq. (they/he): Senior Staff Attorney in Brooklyn Legal Services' LGBTQ/HIV+ Advocacy Project, representing clients in housing, employment, civil rights, criminal re-entry, and public benefits matters. Horth previously served as a public defender with The Legal Aid Society’s Criminal Defense Practice in Manhattan for five years and began their legal career with Legal Services NYC. Horth earned their J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 2015.
Charles Montorio-Archer, Esq. (he/him): Assistant District Attorney in the Youth Justice Bureau of the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office and Small Claims Arbitrator for the New York City Civil Court. Montorio-Archer’s career spans public service, legal practice, and executive leadership, including serving as CEO of national non-profit organizations. A published author (Everybody Paddles) whose work has appeared in the New York Law Journal, Law360, and NYSBA publications, he serves on multiple civic and non-profit boards.
Jennifer Norman, Esq. (she/her): Founder and principal attorney of The Law Office of J.R. Norman PC, bringing over 17 years of trial experience in criminal and family law. Norman earned her undergraduate degree from CUNY Queens College and her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law. She is admitted to practice before the New York State Bar, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the United States Supreme Court Bar.
Nicholas J. Diamond (he/him) (Law Student Liaison, Non-Voting): Studies to practice civil rights, labor, and employment law at The City University of New York School of Law, bringing a decade of international experience in public health. Nick is also the communications chair of the New York State Bar Association’s LGBTQ+ Law Section. He sits on the New York State Bar Association Communications & Publications Committee and the New York City Bar Association Labor & Employment Law Committee. Nick is a legal intern at Goddard Law PLLC, whose labor and employment litigation practice seeks equality in the workplace.

New Members of the LGBT Bar NY Foundation Board of Directors

Samuel Buchbauer, Esq. (he/him): An estate planning, estate administration, and real estate attorney guiding individuals, families, executors, and trustees through complex asset protection, wealth preservation, and Surrogate’s Court matters. Buchbauer served as Chair of the New York State Bar Association’s LGBTQ+ Law Section (2023–2026) and Co-Chair of its DEI Committee, leading statewide educational and policy initiatives promoting accessible legal environments.
Lindsay M. Goldbrum, Esq. (she/her): Partner at Goddard Law, representing plaintiffs in high-profile employment discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and civil rights matters in state and federal courts. A recipient of the 2026 E. Nathaniel Gates Award and recognized among the ABA’s 2026 On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers, Goldbrum previously served on the Association's Board (2018–2025) and co-chaired its Women’s Committee. She holds a J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Maryland–College Park.
Jeffrey J. Saavedra, Esq. (he/him): An associate in Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP’s Finance Group and Structured Finance and Securitization Practice, representing financial institutions across structured finance and asset-backed securities transactions. Saavedra serves actively in pro bono asylum and corporate governance cases, was President of the Dominican Bar Association in 2023, and has been recognized with the Hispanic National Bar Association’s Top Lawyers Under 40 Award and El Diario’s El Award.
Christian Vazquez, Esq. (he/him): An associate in Dechert LLP’s capital markets group, representing financial institutions and corporate issuers in public and private financing transactions, IPOs, debt exchange offers, and corporate governance. Vazquez holds a J.D. from Duke University School of Law and a B.A. from Yale College, and serves on the Duke Law Alumni Association Board and as Co-Secretary of the Yale College Class of 2013.
Mohan Warusha, Esq. (he/him): Associate General Counsel at New York University, overseeing governance, litigation, and student affairs matters. Warusha is a three-time graduate of NYU (J.D., M.A. in International Relations, B.A. in Politics) and previously practiced at a major law firm in New York City.
