We are committed to supporting prospective judges by providing dedicated mentors, navigational resources, and institutional backing to build a diverse, qualified judiciary.
Supporting Your Journey to the Bench
Increasing LGBTQ+ representation in the judiciary is critical to ensuring a fair and equitable legal system. Through our Judicial Pathway Program, LGBT Bar NY actively supports qualified attorneys who aspire to serve as judicial officers across New York State and City courts.
Whether you are pursuing a judicial appointment or preparing for an election, navigating the application and vetting procedures can be complex. We are here to guide you through every phase—pairing you with experienced mentors, demystifying committee ratings, and offering strategic insights into the selection process.
Our goal is to ensure that brilliant, community-minded LGBTQ+ practitioners have the robust institutional support and advocacy they need to succeed.
