The LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York (LGBT Bar NY) endeavors to provide meaningful legal services through various fee drop-in legal clinics, which offer holistic consultations and referrals to members of the LGBTQ community. Attorney volunteers help with any number of legal issues, including housing, immigration, family law matters, criminal issues, employment, discrimination, and more.
The Clinic operates from 6:00–8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evenings, providing free consultations to LGBT New Yorkers. Please arrive between 5:30-5:45 p.m. for intake.
On the second Tuesday of each month the Clinic will have specialized immigration attorneys to assist visitors in addition to the general volunteers. We encourage individuals with immigration-related questions and legal issues to visit us during those specialized sessions.
LGBT Bar NY is proud to offer a virtual clinic option for individuals who are unable to attend the in-person Tuesday clinic. The virtual clinic operates at the same time as the in-person clinic - Tuesdays between 6pm and 8pm. Spots for the virtual clinic are extremely limited and by appointment only. To schedule a virtual appointment with a clinic attorney volunteer please send an email to legalservices@lgbtbarny.org.
