Manhattan Tuesday Night Clinic

In the 1980s at the height of the AIDS crisis, LeGaL established the Manhattan walk-in Clinic, recognizing the legal needs of the LGBT community. The Clinic gives members of the LGBT community an opportunity to speak with a volunteer attorney for a holistic consultation regarding the Clinic visitor’s legal concerns. The Clinic does not provide direct representation but makes references to culturally competent attorneys, whether as a paid client or on a pro bono basis.

The Manhattan Clinic is held every Tuesday from 6:00 to 8: 00 p.m. at 208 W 13th St., New York, NY 10011.

The Manhattan Clinic is staffed by volunteer attorneys who are available to provide general information, advice and counsel , but not legal representation. Consultations average approximately 15 – 20 minutes per visitor but may last longer given the complexity of the case.

If you are interested in volunteering at the Manhattan Clinic and becoming a member of our volunteering community, you may log in (or sign up) to your account and go to the Volunteer section.

Applications to volunteer with LeGaL are reserved for LeGaL members. You must have an up-to-date account to apply and then volunteer.
