Manhattan Tuesday Night Clinic
ABOUT THE CLINIC
In the 1980s at the height of the AIDS crisis, LeGaL established the Manhattan walk-in Clinic, recognizing the legal needs of the LGBT community. The Clinic gives members of the LGBT community an opportunity to speak with a volunteer attorney for a holistic consultation regarding the Clinic visitor’s legal concerns. The Clinic does not provide direct representation but makes references to culturally competent attorneys, whether as a paid client or on a pro bono basis.
TIME AND LOCATION
The Manhattan Clinic is held every Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., both virtually and in-person.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The Manhattan Clinic is staffed by volunteer attorneys who are available to provide general information, advice and counsel, but not legal representation. Consultations average approximately 15 – 20 minutes per visitor but may last longer given the complexity of the case.
